I'm Not Quite Ready To Give Up The Bling, I mean Green

It's been such a nice holiday season I'm not quite ready to put away my Christmas decorations or the  clothing and jewelry I only wear the last two weeks of December.  However, if I owned any of the above baubles Christmas would continue year round. {pictures courtesy of Christie's via Omgthatdress here}

A Tree To Die For

Once again the Wadsworth Atheneum's Festival of Trees and Traditions has presented us with a tree to absolutely die for.  Actually there were many, but my favorite was this 50's inspired cocktail dress tree.

Another favorite was this black & white tree inspired by the fashions of the iconic Coco Chanel

The Festival of Tree & Traditions is in its 38th year and is organized by the Women's Committee of the Wadsworth Atheneum which is a volunteer group dedicated to raising money and public awareness in support of this gem of a museum

I'm thankful I'm still running.....

The 75th Annual Manchester Thanksgiving Day Road Race.  With 15,000 runners of all abilities, bands every half mile, and great spectators lining the 5 mile course, it's more of a celebration than a race.  This year my husband and I decided we would embrace the celebratory nature of the event and dress up in our best hawaiian running gear.

Vintage Hawaiian Dress & Shirt
Fake hair novelty hat (his)
Michigan visor (because it matched my dress and Sat is the big game!)

Cleaned up and ready for the feast
Vintage Wool Cut-Out Vest
Classic Gap jeans

While working on my shop today I became a bit distracted by  Lauren Maurer Artworks  and her wonderful dress prints, all the above are available in her Etsy shop for a very reasonable price.

Doors of Italy

A few images from my trip to Italy.  I loved the doors and door knockers in Florence and Rome. Perhaps my own choice of door knocker {here} was a bit of foreshadowing?

We would never go to a new city without exploring the vintage shops.  Fortunately for us, Florence has many lovely shops filled with items not usually found in the USA.

Look for the vintage hat chandelier and you will have arrived at A.N.G.E.L.O. Vintage Clothing, Via dei Cimatori, Firenze.  A beautiful shop with wonderful european vintage, handbags and shoes. Plus a large selection of mens clothing.

Looking for something for everyone?  Try out Melrose Vintage with three stores in Firenze, Via dei Ginori, Largo Alinari, Via Alamanni.  This shop had the largest selection of vintage western cowboy boots I have ever seen in one location, plus great sweaters, leather jackets and much more.
