Style Icon Iris Apfel

Undoubtedly you have probably seen these pictures before of the iconic Iris Apfel, at least the second one for MAC.  Much has been written about her life and at 90 she is one of the world's most fashionable women. She is known for her high style/low fashion or in other words, her ability to mix expensive couture with lower priced pieces, most notably colorful costume jewelry (many found at flea markets by the way).  She has described her personal style as "throwaway chic"which refers more to her wanting to keep her costumes fun, not that she wears an outfit once and tosses it.  On the contrary, over the years she has amassed a hugh collection of clothing, jewelry and accessories, some of which she has generously donated to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for all of us to enjoy.

Ms Apfel's home is as colorful and exuberant as her personal style, would you expect less?
